the presence of a trapping or fishing device. When a problem is detected, the
card reader raises a barrier that prevents the removal of the card, and reports
the activity.
- Card Reader: Monitored Gate and Protective Shutter - Opteva
constantly monitors the card reader gate, ensuring that it remains completely
closed when not in use. At the beginning of a transaction, a protective shutter
shields the inside of the card reader by only allowing the card to be brought
partially inside. The card's magnetic stripe is verified that it is a genuine bank card before the card
reader will open its gate and allow the card to be fully brought inside.
